As a result of Jeffrey Brusso’s appointment as the 2011-2012 principal at Frost Elementary School, it has been necessary to fill the vacancy for the assistant principalship at Holmes Middle School for 2011-2012. After a thorough process to identify Jeff's successor, last night, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Luis Bonilla as the next assistant principal at Holmes Middle School.

Previously, Luis Bonilla has taught 4th Grade Bilingual in Cicero and 7th Grade Bilingual at London Middle School. For the past year, he has been the Learning Coach at Whitman. Previous to his nine years as an educator, Luis was an accountant for eight years. As a teacher and leader, Luis is committed to children, working as a team with his colleagues, and partnering with parents to ensure the success of their children.  In addition to being a committed teacher, Luis has embraced leadership roles at the district level, working with the Family Learning Program to teach ESL and Computer classes, translating at Board of Education meetings, and working with the team of learning coaches to design quality professional development opportunities for teachers.
